The development will deliver a mix of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom houses and bungalows, following national and local policy. The proposed development will deliver 30% affordable housing.
The planning was secured after a brief appeal during which the Council confirmed it had opted not to defend the appeal in light of a change in circumstances relating to its five year housing land supply position.
Speaking about the approval, Daryl Kirkland, Joint Managing Director at Phoenix Strategic Land, said: “We’re pleased that Peterborough City Council elected not to contest the appeal and that we can now proceed with bringing this much needed local housing forward”.
The development will also include open space which accommodates informal recreational areas, an equipped children’s play area, allotments, tree and hedgerow planting, proposed landscaping and ponds.
A biodiversity rich ecology area of approximately one hectare will be created in the southeast corner of the site.
Daryl continued: “At Phoenix Strategic Land we work to unlock the potential of land, providing development ready sites that can contribute to the government’s 1.5million home housing target. We want to bring forward communities that last, and this development will ensure that Glinton grows sustainably, ready to meet the needs of Peterborough’s future.”
